I love days like this.

I was lulled to sleep by the torrential rain and awoke after the most awful nightmare in which I had failed my degree since when I went in to sit my Finals they had changed my course to Italian (of which I speak not a word) and so all my papers had to be read and answered in it!! What a relief to wake up and know that, yes I do have my degree, and yes it happened a considerable amount of time ago, decades ago in fact. Delayed panic. How nice to wake up and know that it is over though!

The weather demanded a snug-down day, so after visiting the library to collect more of those darn fairy books we all shuffled in close and got on with our own quiet thing. I think we all kind of missed that closeness that was forced upon us in the flat!
This did mean that I am now on the first sleeve of my Lopapeysa. Exciting days... a body sits ready for sleeves to be attached and then on to the yoke. These knitpro needles are changing my experience of knitting wholeheartedly. I love them. Suddenly as I am knitting I see new projects and knitting horizons opening up before me. Maybe I could do jumpers!!??!

After the clouds cleared a little and left us with battering winds we decided it was time to venture out kite flying on the top of the Highest Hill. It was great fun.
Littlest Small almost sailed away so played with a detatchable tail until she decided she should take the photos, this does mean that there is now photographic evidence of my existence.

Biggest Small kept disappearing down the hill and becoming frustrated when her kite naturally plumetted to the ground when they were lower than the wind break from the trees. No amount of telling stopped her, until I asked her what she thought the trees were going to do? Silly me, I should have asked this first.'The trees don't stop the wind Mummy, they make it, look! You can't see any wind before them can you? Now look, they're blowing and shaking all the wind out!' We then had to have a little lesson about the wind. She wasn't having it. We tumbled down the pantomime conversation of 'Oh no it isn't/ Oh yes it is'. In the end I told her she had to stay close to me BECAUSE.
After this most of my time was spent darting between her and Medium Small sending kites back up into the air. Please note the Smalls may think it is summer and warm enough for short sleeves. I was COLD! Woolly hoodie cold. And I was still freezing.
