Steeks, I thank you!

So it's the holidays, so I get sick! I have some hideous 'flu and today I can string 2 or more words together, and since you're not within breathing distance of me you're safe! There is even more to be said of this garden lifestyle. I can be ill and delirious with fever, yet remain snuggled up in the armchair sweating out he goosebumps watching the Smalls play happily using up plenty of energy outside.

They have been stars and certainly demonstrated a larger amount of sympathy and nursing skills than I have been known to muster. Their best effort was to bring me my knitting! Towards the end of the fever bit I was able to go round and round on the Lopapeysa of which I have enjoyed every moment, even the adventure of those steeks - which I saved for today. I think having only used yarn from Aldi for the bulk of it, I was not too scared. Now I feel happy to make another in The Real Stuff!

In celebration of successfully cutting the steeks, the Smalls got to play salt dough. First Littlest Small got gooey, and was then joined in rapid succession by biggest and Medium Small. The rain is now washing away the evidence!

Unfortunately this means if I am well enough to blog I will soon be well enough to do all that assessment marking and start report writing... but I'm sure I can fit in a few more hours sick;)

BTW anyone know this plant? It has sprouted over a few days and flowered yesterday, but curiously the flower is only open until 9.30am and then closes until the next morning!

Steeks! I've never dared to do them .

Not so much for fear of simply cutting, more the thought that they are so final. If the garment is the wrong size, it is too late to change it.

Thanks for your comment - it was very apt.
